Dear fellow bibliophiles,
First, apologies for the late post; the last few weeks have been pretty hectic and I'm only just now getting caught up.
Again, there are several selections that will help with the 2017 Read Harder Challenge. N.K. Jemisin's The Fifth Season is an excellent, award-winning fantasy novel (review coming soon), Chang's The Wangs vs. the World is a debut novel that NPR describes as " unrelentingly fun", and Ben Ratliff's Every Song Ever discusses the impact of technology on how we consume music.
This month's selections are as follows:
Fiction
The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin (2016 Hugo Award for Best Novel & NYT Notable for 2015)
The Wangs vs. the World by Jade Chang
Stone Hunger by N.K. Jemisin (short story w/ optional audio)
Nonfiction
Every Song Ever: Twenty Ways to Listen in an Age of Musical Plenty by Ben Ratliff
Is Bandcamp the Holy Grail of Online Record Stores? by Ben Ratliff (article)
This month's meeting will take place at 12:00 on Saturday, April 29, at Rainbow Sparkly Land. Please RSVP by Wednesday, 26/4 if you'll be able to attend.
Happy reading!

Quick Meeting Update
Good evening fellow bibliophiles,
Just a quick note: there's been an adjustment to both the location and time of tomorrow's meeting; we'll be meeting at 18:00 at Garage in Berga Bāzars instead of Rocket Bean at 18:30.
Hope to see you there!

March Update
Greetings fellow bibliophiles,
Thanks to those who were able to attend the February meeting at Kollekcionars last weekend! We had a lovely brunch and chatted about books, Beyonce, and the coming month.
In an effort to help you complete the 2017 Read Harder Challange, this month's selections include a fantasy novel in which all POV characters are POCs, a fantasy superhero comic with a female lead character of color (and many other major characters of color with diverse gender and sexual identities), and an all-ages graphic novel (not a comic, but comic content...perhaps a stretch, but needs must). I'll be posting reviews of a few other potentials in the near future.
Our selections this month are:
Fiction
The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead (Recommended by Jamie M.)
The Wicked + The Divine: Vol. One: The Faust Act (comic)
Between Here and There by Amy Bloom (short story)
Nonfiction
Relish: My Life in the Kitchen by Lucy Kinsley
Death Comes at the End by Tana Wojczuk (essay)
Feel free to read any, all, or none of the above.
Our next meeting will occur at 18:30 on Friday, 31 March at Rocket Bean Roastery. Please RSVP via email or text by 28/3 if you'll be attending.
Happy reading!

New Chapter
Greetings fellow bibliophiles, and welcome to the new Triple B blog!
Rather than sending out monthly emails, I'll be posting our monthly selections here with space for reviews, discussion, and other odds & ends.
February's selections will be as follows:
Fiction
Everfair by Nisi Shaw
Burning in the Rain by Dambudzo Marechera (p. 13-16) (short story)
Nonfiction
Ai Weiwei Speaks: with Hans Ulrich Obrist
Language Leakage: an interview with Sarah Thomason (short)
As always, read as many or as few of the above as you'd like.
I'd also like to share a challenge with that I'll be undertaking this year. I'll be keeping this challenge in mind as I make selections throughout the year.
February seems like it's almost over already, so I plan to have our next meeting on Saturday, 4 March at 12:00 at Kolekcionars. Please RSVP via email or text by 28/2 if you'll be attending.
Happy reading!
